Lesson Program I:

The Studio offers drum lessons for all ages and skill levels. Whether you are an absolute beginner, more advanced player or somewhere in between, we can provide a unique, individualized lesson program. Emphasis is placed on technique while exploring music the student finds enjoyable. Lessons are held in one of The Studio’s ten rehearsal rooms using a professional kit. In addition to our convenient Manhattan location, we offer flexible scheduling, single lessons, and discounted lesson packages. You can also apply your newly learned drumming skills and participate in our workshops, some of which go to the stage. Students will also be invited to participate in the Saturday night jams. In addition, you can practice in any of our rooms for $10/hr or purchase a solo block rate card which gives you 10 hours of solo practice time for $80.00. All of your drumming needs in one convenient location!

Lesson Program II – Playing with a Bass Player for Drummers

Now that you know the beats what are you going to do with them? There's a huge difference between knowing some drum beats and being able to use and play them in a realistic musical situation. Now get invaluable feedback from a drum teacher playing bass while you are behind the kit learning about groove, feel, and form. In addition to learning how to feel comfortable behind the kit, you'll learn technique, theory, and improvisation, as well as a variety of different styles. Learn what to play when you don't know what to play: learn how to play and think on your musical feet. Learn how to be an effective member of a rhythm section by playing drums with a bass player who can effectively expand your understanding of what being a musician and playing music is all about by playing the music that you love.

About The Teacher: Zach Herman is a graduate of the Berklee School of Music in Boston. In addition to his professional experience, Zach has been teaching drums, guitar, piano as well as songwriting, music theory, composition and arranging, digital audio and recording techniques for over 10 years. Zach understands every student learns differently and at their owm pace. Using the techniques he’s developed over the years and combining them with well established methods, Zach can help each student achieve his/her goals all while enjoying the process.
