Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located at 251 West 30th Street between 7th and 8th Avenue, on the 3rd Floor. Around the corner from Penn Station and Madison Square Garden.
 
Q: When are you open?
A: Hours of Operation: We are open Sunday through Friday from 10:30am to 1am or as late as our last booking (meaning that if our last booking ends at midnight, that’s when we close). On Saturdays we are open from 10:30am to 10pm.  We are happy to accommodate early start times, special rates apply.

Music School FAQs
 
Q: What instruments can I or my child study at Music Makers New York?
A: We give private lessons for Adults and Kids for the following instruments: Guitar, Ukulele, Drums, Piano, Bass, Voice, Mandolin and Banjo.   We also offer group courses for Guitar.
 
Q: How do I sign up and schedule lessons?
A: To schedule a lesson you can either call us @ (212) 967-6124 or (212) 239-7054 or email us at: musicmakersnewyork@gmail.com or press the "SUBMIT INFO" button located on each instruments page to submit your info and a MUSIC MAKERS NEW YORK representative will call you.
 
Q: Do you give introductory rates for lessons?
A: Yes. We offer FREE TRIAL lessons (20min) or discounted introductory rates for a longer lesson for first time students.
 
Q: Do you offer discounted rates for lesson packages?
A: Yes. We offer a discounted rate on lesson packages. The more you purchase, the more you save.
 
Q: What is the cancellation policy for private lessons?
A: The cancellation policy for private lessons is 48 hours.
 
Q: Can I text or email my teacher to cancel my lesson?
A: You can text or email your teacher to cancel your lesson but until you get a response from your teacher the lesson is not considered canceled. The best way to cancel a lesson is to call (212) 967-6124.
 
Q: Will I be charged for a cancelled lesson?
A: As long as you cancel within 48 hours of your lesson you will not be charged?
 
Q: What is the Music Profile?
A: At Music Makers New York we put a high emphasis on matching musicians according to playing level.  Complete your Music Profile and we'll get you started.

Q: is there a charge to complete the Music Profile and become a Music Makers member.
A:  The Music Profile and membership are Free.

Q: How do I know what playing level I'm at?
A: Playing levels can vary depending on the genre of music.  We welcome you to come in for a Free level assessment where you can play with one of our teachers.  Give us a call 212-239-7054 and speak with one of our teachers or send us an email at musicmakersnewyork@gmail.com.

Q: What is The Band Experience?

A: The Band Experience is​ Music Makers Premier Band Ensemble Program which will enhance your understanding of how a band works.  We’ll break down the songs in detail, stretch out, learn beginnings & endings, refine solos, rhythms, patterns & leads.  You’ll gain control over sound and technique, go over individual parts & combine them to create a better band sound.  Learn different ways to approach a song while gaining confidence as a player.  Play & learn from an advanced level instructor.  Ensemble and individual instruction during each session, chord charts, mp3s, email communication with the teacher.  We offer non performance and performance programs.  Performances take place on a Friday evening at The Bitter End on Bleecker Street in NYC. 

Q: How do I sign up to participate in The Band Experience?

Q: What are reserved jams? 
A:  Reserved jams are fun relaxed jam sessions.   Each session has a limited number of participants.  No instrument rotation.  Your slot is guaranteed. Advance registration is required.   Each session is run by a Music Makers coordinator.  

REHEARSAL STUDIOS FAQs
Q: How do I book a room?
A: Check out our Studio & Rates page, then give us a call @ (212) 924-6124 and our courteous and knowledgeable staff will help you find the right size room at a convenient time. 
 
Q: What if I need to cancel my booking?
A: To cancel a booking simply call at least 48 hours before your booking and let us know that you can’t make it. You will be issued a cancellation number. You should also ask for the name of the staff member who is taking the cancellation. As long as you have the cancellation number and the name of the staff member who helped you, and you call with-in the cancellation policy, you will not be charged.
 
Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A: Cancel within 48 hours, no fees are due.  Less than 48 hours, full amount is due. *If your booking is a long-term booking (LTB), meaning that it was booked over a month before the session date, you need to cancel 4 days before for no fees to be due.  Less than 48 hours, full amount is due.

Q: What if I just want to “reschedule” my booking?
A: Rescheduling is the same as cancelling, therefore all cancellation policies apply.
 
Q: “Can you make an exception, just this one time?”
A: Sorry, we are unable to make exceptions to our policies. 

Q:  What do I need to bring for my rehearsal.
A:  Our rooms are fully equipped.  We even have instrument cables on the amps for your convenience.

Q: Do you have special rates and discounts?
A: Yes, we offer special rates such as our "book 2 hours, get 1 free" available at certain times. Click here for Specials.

Q:  Do you rent instruments?
A:  Yes, we have a large selection of guitars & bass available for rental while rehearsing at Music Makers for $15.00 per three hour session and $5/hr for each additional hour.  Congas are also available for $15.00 per session, double bass drum pedal: $15.00 ; pedal board $10.00 per session; We offer FREE use of small percussion.

Q: Do you rent instruments that I can use outside of the rehearsal studios?
A: Sorry, our guitars and bass do not leave the facility.

Q:  Do you sell music supplies?
A:  Yes, we have drumsticks, picks, batteries, strings, effects pedals, power supplies, tuners, capos, strap locks, straps, earplugs, etc. 

Q:  Can I get my guitar or bass setup or repaired at Music Makers?
A:  Yes, a regular setup is $50.00 and $60.00 for guitars with Floyd Rose style tailpiece. Please visit our Guitar & Bass Repair page for all details.
