Kevin Hunter - Workshop Coordinator | Touring Guitarist | Mandolin | Backing Vocals | Songwriter

Native New Yorker Kevin Hunter has proven himself to be a multifaceted musician over the years. He has numerous accolades from his early days as the founding member of the heavy rock band Monster Zero to various bands (both in the U.S. and abroad) that he has contributed to since.

Kevin has had many opportunities to play with various known artists, as well as supported several major headline acts touring the world, including television appearances. The scope of his talent has broadened to include success as a composer for both film and video.

Kevin’s background, like many New Yorkers, is steeped in the many flavors of music (Rock / Southern Rock, Latin, R&B, Jazz-fusion, Country & Motown) which emanates organically and with great fluidity throughout the boroughs that make up NYC.

Many can attest to NYC’s grass-roots influence upon Kevin's musical inclinations/inspirations, where the human spirit is subtly awoken to the resonating sounds of musical rhythms that reverberate both within and without – capturing it, in melodious harmonies as well as an arresting riff that captivates the audience to which ultimately vie for more.

Musical influences from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Queen, Prince, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and U2 continue to enrich the vibe that radiates through Kevin’s playing. While the varying influences found within NYC and his personal musical influences have both had a relevant role in Kevin’s musical upbringing, it would also be imparted upon by his father’s love of some country classics like Johnny Cash, George Jones, and Merle Haggard. Adding to this diverse mix is a wee bit of soul from the “Godfather of Soul” himself, James Brown.
