Our lessons are geared toward the individual student taking into account how each student learns best and what they are interested in. Our hands-on approach takes a little from the traditional and a little from the modern to create a tailor-made approach that will have the student playing during their very first lesson. In addition to learning the keyboard, students will be exposed to music theory and proper technique. Using music that the student knows and loves, students will:
 
  • Learn note and key names and where to find them on the keyboard.
  • Learn chord structure
  • Learn about rhythm and note durations including time signature.
  • Learn how to read music in the treble clef and bass clef.
  • Learn about accidentals and key signatures: Learn about sharps and flats and different keys and key signatures.
  • Learn scales: Major and Minor Scales, Blues Scales (minor pentatonic plus #4 or flat 5 scale degree), and an introduction to different modes and how to use them.
  • Learn improvisation: how to solo and improvise over chord changes.
  • Learn comping: how to play different styles and genres.
  • Learn composition: How to write chord progressions and melodies on the piano.

 
Rates:

  • Lessons are one hour and can be purchased individually for $97.00
  • First-time students receive a 20% discount off the first lesson.
  • Lessons can also be purchased in blocks at the following discounted rate:

4 lessons – $368  
6 lessons – $552  
8 lessons – $735

  • A one-lesson deposit of $97 is required in advance of the first lesson. This deposit is kept on file for the duration of your studies and is refundable, or can be applied to pay for your last lesson, should you discontinue. A block of lessons expires 1 year from the date of purchase.
Cancellation Policies:
Our teachers have reserved the time for you. In the case of studio lessons, we have reserved a room for you, and in the case of home lessons, the teacher is scheduling their day to accommodate you, therefore 48 hours cancellation notice is most appreciated. With 48 hours notice, we don't have to charge you because there is sufficient time to rebook the room and for a teacher to adjust their schedules.
