The Band Experience - Registration

A Taste of Latin Grooves W. Baden Goyo

Thursdays 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

This course will explore the patterns of the two main rhythms of Latin music: Bolero and Afro-Cuban rhythms (Son, Cha-cha, Danzon). We will learn the difference between them by playing tunes of the traditional repertoire and learning every part of the groove. The focus will be on the rhythmic and harmonic vocabulary of these genres, and the goal is to learn how to play basic grooves and common variations within the rhythmic section instruments (Bass, guitar, drums/percussion, vocals, and piano).
