Music Makers’ Join-A-Band Workshops are NYC’s top-tier adult band ensemble experience.

Our groups are designed to sharpen your skills, deepen your musical understanding, and help you sound better together.

Come explore multiple approaches to a song, build confidence as a player, and stretch your musical vocabulary under the guidance of a seasoned, pro-level instructor.

We’ll break down songs from the inside out—working on beginnings, endings, solos, grooves, and transitions. You’ll refine your technique, gain control over tone and feel, and learn how to lock in with others to create a tighter, more dynamic band sound.

At the end of your cycle, you’ll take the stage with your band at one of NYC’s most famous live music venues, and perform for friends, family, and beyond!

Plus, you'll get full access to our student portal, where you'll find all class materials, recordings, and resources to help you stay inspired and on track between sessions.

GROOVE MACHINE with Evan Macaluso

HITS THAT RULED THE DANCE FLOOR

Get the room moving with the high-energy pulse of disco and the driving power of dance-rock. This workshop dives into the tight rhythms, syncopated bass lines, glossy guitar textures, and soaring vocals that defined hits from the Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Chic, Duran Duran, and other dance-floor favorites. Musicians will lock into infectious grooves, explore layered arrangements, and bring classic feel-good tracks to life in a live band setting. MAJOR TOM’S SONGBOOK

This workshop celebrates the bold, theatrical, and adventurous spirit of art-rock and glam. While David Bowie is the central inspiration, participants will also explore the music of fellow innovators like Lou Reed, Roxy Music, Queen, T. Rex, and other artists who shaped the era with striking melodies, dramatic arrangements, and fearless creativity. Musicians will dive into expressive vocals, rich textures, and inventive songwriting that defined this influential movement, making it perfect for players excited to experiment and push boundaries.

SUN KISSED SOFT ROCK OF THE ‘70s

Step back into the groovy glow of the 1970s! This workshop celebrates sun-soaked harmonies, velvet vocals, and unforgettable riffs that defined a generation. From Ambrosia to Walter Egan, with Eddie Money and Little River Band in between, these groups delivered timeless melodies and rich harmonies that shaped the sound of ’70s AM radio. THE ART OF JAMMING
