Alex "Tiappa" Klimovitsky
Alexander Tiappa Klimovitsky is an award-winning composer, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist performer, and recording artist. He’s collaborated with such diverse artists such as Jason Corsaro (Iggy Pop, Madonna, Moby), Rory Attwell (Vaccines, Palma Violet), members of Buraka Som Systema, Metronomy and Thievery Corporation, as well as MacArthur fellow Lee Breuer and legendary experimental theater groups such as Mabou Mines, The Open Program of Thomas Richards and Jerzy Gratowski, Terra Incognita and Anonymous Ensemble. He currently lives and teaches in New York City.

Studied music with Anthony Braxton, J. Hoggard, Abraham Adzenyah, Greg Drew and John Barlow. Final thesis was a theater score and adaptation of the anonymously penned 12th Century Gaelic miracle play “The Crucifixion” that later became a work in progress with Lee Breuer and Mabou Mines.
